In baseball the count greatly determines how the chess match between pitcher and catcher will develop. There are twelve counts in baseball: 0-0, 0-1, 0-2. 1-0. 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 3-0, 3-1, 3-2. In these twelve counts, the pitcher and the hitter may hold the upper hand. Below is an examination of each count and how the count changes the course of the at-bat:
