The 2010 season will be Coach Ruben Corral's 11th season coaching baseball after a great run as a pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

As the Pitching Coach at NAIA Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA, he runs the task of developing skilled, knowledgeable players and pitchers with the expressed intent to teach the game, win and move his boys on to the next level.

In 2000-2001 Coach Corral coached at nationally-ranked powerhouse Capistrano Valley High School, where the Cougars won back-to-back Division I CIF Championships.  He credits nationally recognized head coach Bob Zamora for helping him become the coach he is today.

From 2003-2007, he helped to open Junipero Serra Catholic High School as Varsity pitching coach, where the Lions made 2 CIF Playoff appearances in their first 3 varsity seasons on their way to becoming a Southern California powerhouse.

Outside of the high school ranks, "Roob" has worked extensively with young players for the Capo Cats Travel Baseball Organization.  While coaching both 12u and 13u teams, he prides himself on creating well-groomed, responsible young athletes in a fun environment that isn't solely built on winning...but on learning the game the right way.

His track record for developing players that perform and execute at the high school has been impeccable.  Of the 15 players on Capo Valley's 2009 CIF Championship winning team, 10 players played in the Capo Cats program.  Many of his former players have gone on to help Capo Valley win 9 league titles in 10 years, and 3 CIF Championships.  With great pride, Ruben has at least one player playing at every high school in South Orange County, CA.

As a 10th round pick of back-to-back World Series Champion Toronto Blue Jays in 1993 at the age of 17, Coach Corral began his professional career as a pitcher.  He led the league in complete games and innings pitched in 1995 helping the Medicine Hat Blue Jays win the Northern League Championship.

Coach Corral's playing resume includes:  Toronto Blue Jays, Dodgers Scout Team, Phillies Scout Team, Blue Jays Scout Team, Mariners Scout Team, 1993 Mission Valley League Player of the Year, San Gabriel Valley All-Star Team, California North/South All-Star Team, Sunbelt National Classic All-Star Team, Dodgers Area Code All-Star Team.

Coach Corral's coaching resume includes:  Arroyo High School JV Assistant Coach 1997; 1998-1999 Grand Slam Baseball School, Monrovia, California; 2000-2001 Capo Valley High School, Orange County, California; 2003-2007 Junipero Serra Catholic High School, Orange County, California; RealDealBaseball Camps, Orange County, California; El Monte Dukes Baseball Camps, El Monte, California, 2002- Present Capo Cats Baseball Club, Orange County, California.
